In this six-part mini series, documentarians Ruben Terlou and Jelle Brandt Corstius travel the New Silk Road through Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan. Countries that once formed the Old Silk Road, the trade center of the world. Most Westerners today have other associations with Central Asia: lots of oil and gas, long-serving tyrants, and violent steppe regions inhabited by uncultured types (courtesy of Sacha Baron Cohen's alter ego Borat).
