Four contestants have to answer questions of general knowledge or everyday life. The program, which has undergone a number of changes, comprises several rounds (successively Le Coup d'Envoi, Le Coup par Coup and Le Coup Fatal), each of which eliminates one of the 4 candidates. The remaining candidate is known as the "Maître de Midi".
