During the Republican era, storyteller Jiang Huai and his partner Mr. Xun stumble upon a haunted house where the living occupy it by day, and ghosts rule by night. Jiang Huai is kidnapped and forced into a ghost marriage. Teaming up with female detective Mu Ying, the pair unravel a series of eerie cases: the King of Hell's wedding, five ghosts moving treasure, a puppet killing, a flower demon seduction, a chandelier assassination, and an ancient well claiming lives.
