Adapted from the American format Blackout , Take the Plunge featured two teams competing in a series of word-based challenges that combined description, deduction and strategic decision-making under time pressure. Hosted by Su Pollard and produced by Thames Television for ITV, the programme emphasised clarity of communication and tactical play, with success in the main game determining a team's opportunity to compete for the final prize.
